MIDI to logic with GP Relayer and back

Hi everybody,

I want to use GP5 as may main software, where i control my whole set.

But i want to use logic sounds, eg the “breathless pumping” from ES2 synth. I love this sound and i use it very often.

So I set up my wiring in GP like this: MIDI in goes to GP Relayer 1, I put send via Relay #1.

Now in logic I need to put the GP Relayer entry somehow, somewhere before it goes to my ES2 synth. In audio tracks its possible to put it as an entry, but how does that work with a MIDI track?

Hope someone can help me!

Thanx

Flo

As you are on Mac, you could use MIDI from your controller.
Do you know this?

After you’ve completed this step:

  1. Put GP Relayer on its own software instrument track in Logic Pro (Set it to “Receive” – it listens to the instance that sends from GP5);
  2. Instantiate ES2 on its own software instrument track also;
  3. On ES2 track settings, Select GP Relayer as input under “Internal MIDI In”

This moves MIDI from GP5 to ES2.

But, if you want to send the audio back from Logic Pro to GP5, use a second instance of GP Relayer as an audio effect (set to “Send”) on the ES2 track and place another instance in GP5 also (set to “Receive”) both using Relay #2 (or whatever relay number you desire).

Thank you pianopaul,

I know this, but I want to use Gig Performer as my base where i manage all the sounds.

Thank you very much Vaultnaemse,

It seems that it is working like this!!

Here comes the next question:

I want to use different sounds from logic and manage them all in GP. Right now it seems, that I have to select the tracks in logic. That would mean, that I have to change between GP and logic each time I want to use another sound.

Isn’t there another option?

Thanx again
