Midi Patch Persist in a Guitar/Audio/Midi environment_is THIS weird?

I noticed this last night , I use a guitar mainly setup but also dabble in midi guitar using the JamO MG3 beta .
I don’t understand midi patch persist in this case where one may be going from an audio Rackspace to a MIDI Rackspace as far as wiring goes , I didn’t realize this was a feature but is it?
The fact that I can effectively mix in another Rackspace sound , this is sound on sound basically , by the WAY I HOLD NOTES coming from a Rackspace going into a Rackspace , is it the MIDI GP see’s from MG3 doing this ? I assume so .
I have attached a diagram , but the argument is this ,
I play a guitar patch through an interface into GP4 , let’s say that is Rackspace 3 .
I switch to Rackspace 2 which is just a midi unblock from MG3 midi out into a synth plugin , OP-x let’s say .

If I hold a note on the guitar , just my finger , no damper or switch involved and I invoke Patch 2 the synth , I will effectively have both sounds sound .
Even though the foot switch indicates I am in Rackspace 2 .
I hear guitar and synth .
Then I try this same approach WITHOUT holding a note on the guitar as I switch into Rackspace 2 then Rackspace 3 fades out as you would expect respective of the output fading scheme in that Rackspace properties .

Maybe this is the way it’s intended and I am simply naive ?
