I have a 2 keyboard setup (bottom Studionlogic NumaXPiano 73 and top Yamaha Montage M6).
I was playing a Hammond sound (UAD Waterfall B3) on the Montage M6 when after a glissando the bottom note got stuck. I pressed the Midi Panic Button on Gig Performer. Every thing stopped as expected. However while still Midi messages were received from NumaXPiano 73 nothing was received anynmore from the Montage M6. I had to power cycle the Montage M6, then Midi was correctly received again. During a live performance this would not be nice.
Did anybody have a similar problem and was able to overcome it (e.g. through a configuration)

Can you reproduce the issue by pressing MIDI panic in Gig Performer?
Are you sending MIDI from Gig Performer to the Yamaha MOD?
No, I am not sending MIDI to the Montage M6.
When Yamaha MOD is not sending MIDI anymore, does it work properly with inbuilt sounds?
I have not tried that. I just reboot the Montage M6. Have to wait until it happens again next time.
Do you know what is sent when I press the MIDI Panic button in Gig Performer. Montage M has 4 MIDI Ports (Port 1 for tone generatioin, Port 2, 3, 4 are for remote and control inside a DAW setup). If the MIDI Panic messages are sent to all 4 Ports this might lock it up. Just a guess.
Do you use the montage just to send MIDI notes and pitch bend or modulation only or do you need MIDI back from Gig Performer?
Did you enable MIDI out ports to Montage in Gig Performer?
In this specific setup I use only Note-On & Note-Off from Montage M6. Everything else is blocked in the GigPerformer MidiIn block.. I have enabled MIDI Out Ports of NumaXPiano and Montage M6 Port1. Port 2, 3, 4 are blocked (I had forgotten that). Therefore what I guessed above cannot happen.
Why do you need MIDI send back to Montage?
That’s a good question. If a MIDI Note is stuck and I activate the MIDI Panic button do I not need the MIDI Out Port to the Yamaha enabled. This is the only reason.
Are you using MIDI local off on your Montage?
NO. I have one specific performance on the Montage M when I play sounds on GigPerformer. This performance has only 1 part. This part has only external control through USB port. Therefore no internal sounds can be played. There is also no MIDI Panic button on the Montage M.
Could it be that sending panic to montage changes some settings on the Montage?
I was thinking the same, in particular if panic sends messages through Port 2, 3, 4. However these are blocked. I have tried now at least 20 times to activate the panic button, I cannot repeat the blockage. I will need to wait until it happens again and do some more investigation on the Montage M before I reboot.

Can you just confirm that I need the GigPerformer Midi Output enable for Montage M Port1 in order that the panic button actually can work.
I don’t think so as you need MIDI panic to reset plugins for hanging notes.
If the notes hang from teh keyboard ?
The keyboard sends NOTE On and Note Off messages.
When a plugin misses a Note Off messages causing the hanging Note,
then the plugins needs to be resetted by incoming MIDI Panic message, not the controller.
I have a midi-baby button and have it mapped to the midi panic setting in GP. So if I get a stuck note … (hasn’t happened in a long time) I click that. Ok—that said, it seems like that would not have worked in your situation. But with me, in addition I use an iPad with the app set list maker.. which i can switch to a totally new song with a tap (and switch back to current song). That is my backup plan if I get a midi stuck note in the future. Just another idea.
Thank you for your reply. I also can switch with my triple-pedal to the next song in gig performer and back. However this did not help, as my Montage M6 stopped sending MIDI. I have disabled now gig performer sending midi to my keyboards. Will see whether this helps. The problem does not happen systematically. Only every now and then. Therefore it is difficult to reproduce
