Midi Guitar is a big part of why I’m interested in Gig Performer. How do I try it out in the trial version of GP?

What version of GP are you using?
And what is the midi guitar plugin?
What platform and OS are you running?
Ummm, GP4. I don’t see any other version numbers
Via Deskew or Plugin Alliance?
Via Deskew. And I’m running mac monterey 12.6.3
Really? If you click “Help - About Gig Performer” you should get something like this (with a version number)

And the midi guitar plugin is 64 bit?
On an Intel or M1 machine?
Ahh, there it is! Yes, that one (4.5.8)
64 bit, yes
That does not answer the question — all recent Macs are 64-bit
intel; 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
What happens if you remove the plugin from the plugin manager and rescan it?
Lots of people use MIDI Guitar with GP - it’s very popular
sorry, I was replying to pianopaul about 64 bits. (I’m floored by the responses to this question; I can’t keep up
Understood – but it’s very hard to help you when we’re only getting information piecemeal ![]()
yeah I should have composed a more complete request, with that info.
I will try removing MG2 from plugin mgr, as soon as I can find it
THANKS
You might also try running the standalone version first. It might be that the plugin was trying to contact its home server for some kind of license check and there was a timeout.
Solved, and thanks very much. (uninstalled and reinstalled Midi Guitar)
Hmm, was it just uninstalling and reinstalling Midi Guitar that fixed it? That seems a bit odd — hard to believe you had a corrupt install process — but glad you have it working.
