You are On Mac, right?
So don’t you get installed the AU version of Player when you install via Native Access?
Windows 
So no AU version available as this is a format only running on Mac.
I just got feedback from NI support.
They can reproduce the issue with VST3 and development is informed.

I wonder how this was missed during initial testing - seems like a very basic piece of functionality

Now lets see when/if NI get it updated. 
Untill then I will just use the Global Rackspace with the different instruments on separate midi channels.
