Message from audio interface

I carry out all my home programming using a Focusrite Clarett 2 Pre, but sometimes when I go out on a private gig, I like to take a smaller amount of gear for a quick and easy set up. In that case, I take a Focusrite Solo V3.

Setting up yesterday, I saw the following messages on screen when booting up GP.

  1. I don’t understand what these mean as I never see them on the Clarett 2 pre.
  2. What are they trying to tell me?
  3. What is the answer to remedy the situation?

If you used an audio interface with more I/O channels in a gig file, e.g. :

And you than use an audio interface with a smaller number of I/O channels, when you open that gig file, you’ll get the messages per your screenshot.

That’s why - it has less channels!

Ok, I guess:)
So when message pops up, does it matter whether I say yes or no? Or is it a moot point that GP is just informing me about?
