Melda MEqualizer?

Heyo folks!!

So I’ve been searching around for a nice EQ plug and I’ve seen that one of the favorites is Melda Production MEqualizer. I’ve looked at it and it’s functionality is amazing, BUT I seem to have this awful, AWFUL delay whenever I instantiate it. Like, unusable delay. about 1-2 seconds from the time I hit a key to the time I hear a note. No other plug I have does this.

A) has anyone used this plug with GP5?
B) has anyone experienced this with MEqualizer? Is this just a function of the demo-version?

Thanks everyone!

That certainly sounds like a trial version limitation, though I don’t know for a fact that is what is happening. Licensed versions of that plugin don’t have the issue described.

Yeah it sure does… that’s why I was asking before I drop the $110 to get it.

Too bad, cuz it looks like a very excellent plug. But I can’t test it in a practical sense with this limitation. Oh well! On to the next.

I’ve been using EQuilibrium from DMG Audio for years but I don’t remember paying nearly as much as they’re asking for it now.

Contact Melda, ask them about it.

Well, all I can say is after some research, I found a VERY functional and excellent EQ for everyday use in GP5 - by our old friends at Tokyo Dawn Labs…

the TDR Nova EQ is feature rich (including a DYNAMIC EQ, which means it can function as a multiband compressor too!) and, unbelievably, it’s FREE. However, you are limited to 4 bands… but if you want to shell out 60 euros, you can have the upgraded version “Gentlemen’s” edition, which adds 2 more bands to the deal. I opted in for that, and WOW I’m completely blown away!

So easy to use right out of the box. HIGHLY recommend!

Is this the free plugin? I use it all the time without any problems. Or are you referring to MEqualizerLP? That’s a linear phase eq and is bound to have latency (although 1-2 seconds is really a lot, even for linear phase).

I use 16 instances of MEqualizer VST2 plugins in one rackspace without any problems with Windows PC.

I think @nebulon5 was using MEqualizerLP:

Because it’s a linear phase eq, it has a lot of latency.

Im not having that issue. It is a pretty feature rich EQ and my guess is some type of high quality setting might be on.
