Map tap tempo to the spacebar?

Is there a way to do that? I know I can map a midi controller to the tap tempo but for me the spacebar on my MacBook would be ideal. Is that possible?

Gig Performer can respond to keystrokes.
An example is in this article: Gig Performer | The most flexible MIDI processing

I typically tie it to the T character using the callback below (in the GigScript)

Wonderful. I will try this now, thanks.

Amazing. GP is the program that keeps giving. :grinning:

I’ve spent the whole of the last 4 days of demoing to see if this is ready for deep integration with a professional FOH scenario and a digital console for a world tour this year (hopefully!)
No question, it is ready.
I’ve really given it a hard time - pulling out cables, turning things off to emulate real world situations, and it’s very robust.
But at every turn when I’ve gone…“I wonder if it can do this?” it has always come back with yes.
Congratulations guys.

I’ve noticed it’s possible to override the spacebar link to play/stop:

On Keystroke matching "spacebar" Description "Tap Tempo"
    Tap()
End
