Maintaining Mixer Volumes Between Songs?

I’m using an audio mixer with a controller to mix outputs for eight channels of audio (guitar, vocal, etc).

I have multiple songs/rackspaces in a setlist.

If I adjust my mix (to the venue) for song/rackspace #1, is there a way to carry over my mixer volume settings to the next song/rackspace? (So, sort of like a global mix.)

Well, further reading revealed the answer. Phew. A lot to learn!

Putting the audio mixer in the Global Rackspace was the key.
https://gigperformer.com/docs/GP4UserManual/how-to-control-widgets-from-global-in-regular.html

I had to follow the steps closely and it was a bit of work, but now its doing what I want! Powerful stuff.

Feature suggestion: for an audio mixer within a rackspace, it would sure be hunky-dory if you could click on a fader/volume and have an option to assign it to be “global across songs/rackspaces”. In other words, the volume setting would be “passed” to the next song. No muss, no fuss. I know that’s what the global rackspace is for, but I like to dream.

Well, something is not working. If I have an active rackspace, the global mixer settings are shared between the global widgets and the current rackspace/song. But it is not shared between all the rackspaces. If I select rackspace/song #2 all of the fader settings are not the same as the global. I’m pretty sure I have everything set up right. Could I be missing something??

Are you routing your audio to the global rackspace from each of your standard rackspaces?

Yes, did all that audio routing according to the linked manual page. Something is amiss, and it was probably something I did wrong.

I’ve redesigned things so that mixer stuff that needs global CC control (audio faders, sends, etc) are all in the global rackspace (and not using “mirrored” widgets in the song rackspaces). Originally I liked having the visual faders and knobs in the regular rackspaces, but am finding its more efficient to simply look at my MIDI controller/mixer.

The more I use GP the smarter I get about designing my setup. When I have time I may redesign the whole thing. Its kind of fun, and its amazingly flexible.

How should i connect everything?
In global rack space the audio mixer (4ch) is connected in this way: from rackspaces - audio moxer - my audio out device.
What do i have to do in local rackspace?
Tks

As I understand, you want to control the level with 1 knob and between rackspaces this controlled level should remain?

use the global rackspace and include a gain control.
With a widget placed in the global rackspace you can control the level.

Then route all audio from the local rackspaces to the global rackspace.

I’d like to add something to Pianopaul’s solution:
If you place an additional gain block in your local rackspaces before every “To Global” block, and use a widget for this “local gain”, you are able to adjust the output loudness for each rackspace/variation separately (since this might vary with diffrent plugins and patches), but the “final” and common volume adjustment will allways be done in the Global rackspace.
