Mac uninstalling plugins

Mac.
gig performer pro.
I downloaded the Tone Boosters package thing:

https://www.toneboosters.com/index.html#anchor_download

Realise it is actually ONLY the legacy package I want.
I go to remove this installation from my Mac:
I got to finder > applications > ToneBoosters folder, and I throw the whole folder in the bin and empty it and reset the Mac.
Gig performer STILL shows these plugins, and I can still open them and interact with them, so they ARE still on the Mac somehow.
Huge amount of clutter, I must get rid of them.
Using a computer should be simple - you uninstall something IT SHOULD BE GONE!
I called Apple support, they walked me through the same process and conclude this is an issue within gig performer. somehow gig performer has stored the plug ins within itself. I am now asking for gig performer support.

How do I remove these plug ins? there are like 50, its a huge amount of clutter and on principle alone if I uninstall stuff it should be gone.

Please please help, this may not be an emergency but I am really bugged by this one

Thank you

Open the Plugin Manager, and find the location for that plugin.

Delete the plugin and then rescan plugin folders.

Okay thank you!

I couldn’t find the route to this anywhere in the UI. And after googling it the only route there was through a shortcut (people aren’t psychic).
Windows has never been like this lol. Learning curve.

Deleting the AU plugins from here doesn’t work though. When clicking locate plug-in it says:
Can’t do this for AU file formats. Please look at the standard AU folder

So I google the location of the AU folder. It says:
Finder > Go (hold options) > Library > Audio > Components > and apparently the AU folder should be here. it is not, nothing is here.
Another example of Apple hiding things you need to see for absolutely NO reason? I wonder…

Okay, wow.

What was Steve job’s problem?
If I just click go at the top THEN Macintosh > library > audio > plugins > components
NOW I can see files - which to me is nonsense.

WHY is it called the FINDER if I can’t FIND ANYTHING with it?
wow. terrible terrible UX. The price tag for this dog water operating system is wild.

Thank you very much for your help anyway!
Hopefully deleting these files here actually does something.

Yes, confirmed. They are gone! :folded_hands:

Yes, AudioUnits are a bit “special” and need extra steps.

I’m glad that all is good now!

P.S.

Don’t believe those guys :upside_down_face:
