M4 Mac, no latency in Live, but slight in Cubase (128smp,24-48)

(I searched posts but can’t find a resolution)

Hello! I finally got a new, fast computer and purchased GP5.

I’m running Live 12 Standard, Cubase 14 Pro, & GP5 on a MOTU M4 with the same settings: 24/48 with a 128 sample buffer.

Guitar plays amazing in GP5 and through GP Relayer in Live, but there’s a slight delay in Cubase. Noticable when playing staccato. I’m a long-time Cubase user and looove it. New to Ableton, but like that I can easily connect hardware controllers.

I’m Cubase-fluent, but stumped. Also, guitar playing WITHIN Cubase is awesome. Fast and no latency. I assume there’s something I’m overlooking in Cubase? I tried “Constrain Delay Compensation”, but it made no difference. Tried other things as well. And I tried both methods to connect GP Relayer.

Not a huge deal. I’m just curious why Live is so fast and Cubase slower.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

In Cubase I have Adjust for Record Latency on and set to 0 samples.

Also ASIO-Guard is disabled. There’s no audible latency for me with those settings.

That was it! Thank you!

ASIO-Guard was showing a 32ms delay.
