Looks like UA Ruby has reduced its CPU usage from 50% to a much more manageable 25%. I didn’t use Lion or Dream before so I’m not sure if they have reduced as well but they are 25% and 15% respectively. I never used Ruby when it was 50% (I was pretty angry about this) but that has now changed with “only” 25% usage.
Btw, I recently discovered Nembrini Audio and love their amps. They burn up… 2% of CPU. And their AC30 style amp, the Voice DC30, is spectacular. Their summer sale has most items at $29. After your first purchase you get the Loyalty20 coupon which is an additional 20% off. I’ve bought quite a few items this summer with most $24. Each amp also has great backend controls like swapping between four mics for a two mic setup and mixing each plus many other backend controls. I was also blown away by their model of a Dumble Overdrive Special.
So Ruby was no longer needed but it’s nice to have that back as an option.
