I play live drums and I used to haul this beast around. I still do for like gigs, but it’s very rare.
I run my V drums into my computer with a MOTU Mk5. The MIDI comes into Superior Drummer inside a program called Gig Performer.
I’m running my Superior Drummer with 12 outputs and some of the outputs run through their own dedicated effects chain. I can control digital parameters like feedback and delay time and reverb and amount and all that stuff with a physical MIDI controller so I can dub out myself and add effects to high hat snare, and then a bunch of the samples I have on the pad.
Then Gig Performer is routed either left and right or 10 outputs, or whatever the sound man is comfortable with.
Nice - and similar to what I do. Drumpads can change from simple low profile pads to full drumshells with mesh heads. In my eDrummin 10 midi interface are saved presets for the different pad types. I mix and match different drum and percussion libraries. Very easy with GP to e.g. use a snare sample fom BFD with the rest of the kit from NI’s Session Drummer plus a loop from UVI’s Percussion Factory or Heavyocity’s Damage.
