Right. Why? (all my other software is fine)
And what do I have to do now?

With an OS update the license may thinks it is a different machine

Create a support ticket (like i mentioned in the post above + gave a link).

Hmmm ok, for some reason. (I didn’t do anything except eating pancakes) Entering the acivation key worked. ??

So no problem now?

No problems!

You seem surprised that you could activate using the activation key!

Glad that you’ve managed to sort things out.
For other activation related questions, please create a support ticket.

Yes, because 1. I’am using GP for a long time now and it was never necessary
But mainly 2: it did NOT work (as described above), but after dinner it suddenly did work. (without anything changed)

Just an FYI, it is not just OS’s I upgraded a CPU without deactivating the GP licence, this also causes a problem.

Where? I want to see it.

Yes, it is anything that might cause the licensing system to think the program was being run on a different computer. Changing the CPU would definitely do that

Are you in doubt? Well, I have witnesses…

But I’d rather not rekindle old debates by quoting them. Let’s keep an eye on those to come…

Naturally, I feel like I’m the only one holding the line (or maybe trying to break through the line)

Yes, but you’re out of the competition. At your level of rhetoric, the substantive subject no longer matters, only the argumentative logic do. But perhaps I accept too easily that my arguments are not the universal truth. I’ll try to remotivate myself, so you don’t feel like the last man standing… :muscle::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::v:

It’s true to a degree, the reason being that I quickly lose patience, especially given that my day job is telling stubborn engineers that they should do things differently, and whatever they think the technical solution dictates is always lower priority than usability and user experience. But at work, I a) get paid for this, so if it takes long then I get more money, b) I can simply replace a developer with someone else if their resistance goes too far, c) that’s my role on projects, clients pay to have me doing this. GP is someone else’s responsibility, so I can share what I think and argue a bit, but will take the easiest path, my life doesn’t depend on it.

What would it be like if you put some energy into it… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::joy:

Everybody would be fired last week, or, more likely, I would be banned from this place forever

Just kidding. Energy is required to do it patiently and carefully.

We’ve noticed
