Laptop purchase

I’m considering a new laptop for Gig Performer and recording purposes. If anyone could provide some feedback on this system, I’d appreciate it. I use GP 4 (but will upgrade to 5) and Kontakt 11 as my two primary pieces of software. I’ve not yet decided on a DAW. Any input you can provide is greatly appreciated.

These laptops have some kind of “Audio Enhancements” that cause DPC latency issues, which can lead to clicks, dropouts, or lag — that’s a critical problem for real-time work.

I suggest that whatever you want to buy, first google user experiences or check are there LatencyMon tests on the web.

I can corroborate the above statement!
I use Mac now but when on PC I had good luck with the Lenovo Legion series.

Especially if you use sample libraries, I would also check if you have the option of increasing the amount of ram in the future. That would be another priority for me.

I had lots of bad experiences when I bought a powerful windows gaming laptop in 2021.

My lesson was: never buy a windows laptop if you cannot check it before purchase with LatencyMon. Some laptops have aggressive heat protection inside bios that kills audio performance. No way to get rid of that. Only solution is testing and/or asking to audio nerds here. Most little things (13 or 14 inches) are the most dangerous.

As a terrible example, NUC machines by Intel were perfect. But they are not laptop. I solved going into the dark side of the Force (MacBookPro)
