Issue with bypassed Plugin

Hi.

I’m using GigPerformer for guitar and it’s really great. I am using Tonex in stereo, left channel with a reverb-plugin into one cab, right channel dry into another cab. Today I tested a downmix of both channels into a single FRFR-Speaker. Wiring is like on the picture:

While the plugin is active, everything works like expected. When the plugin is bypassed, the sound changes to an out-of-phase-thing. To my understandig, by bypassing the block, the signal shouldn’t be affected by anything what is in the block. When I switch of the plugin with its internal switch without bypassing it, everything is fine. Other plugins also work like expected.

GigPerformer 5.2.2

MacBook Air M4 with MacOS 26.3

Plugin: UADx Pure Plate Reverb

Maybe you can give me some hints, what could be the issue here. Thank you very much!

Greetings, Timo

It has to do with the latency of the plugin, and how the latency compensation in GP is applied to the whole signal chain when a plugin is in bypass.

You can work around the latency issue by using GP Relayer. The left and right signals will no longer be out of phase.

Thank you for your fast reply! I didn’t even realize, that there is a latency on this plugin. Normally, this is the first thing that I would check after installing and testing a new plugin.
