+1 for that suggestion. I’m still running Intel Macs from 2018 for live performance and have no intention to upgrade, even to Apple Silicon.
If you dont like Apple, Intel is still your best bet right now (for audio). They are just power hungry, which means either bigger and/or louder cooling system. That said i doubt anyone will hear the “loud” fans onstage, and in low stress situations Windows machines can be fairly quiet especially with SSDs.
Im not sure how well Android os is doing regarding low latency audio compared to Windows and Apple.
i think Windows is just working on their Arm performance but im guessing they will sort it out eventually as Microsoft have alot riding on Arm processors as much as Apple, as both Microsoft and Apple initially reached out to Intel to try to go to a newer processor format. Apple just had more resources to go a different direction at the time.
I understand the dislike for Apple.
