iPad to Surface Pro Ethernet connection dropouts

I have been experiencing loss of connection between my iPad and my Surface Pro 9. I have wireless turned off on both devices and each device has a USB C to ethernet adapter and are connected using a short Ethernet cable. The connection is dropping out from the computer end think during break times. I’m also using Bome Network to bridge the gap.

Is there a setting within Windows I can perhaps turn on to prevent the dropouts?

Make sure that there are no sleep options/policies (USB suspend) on both devices.

I had done all that, but just found they were turned on again. Does that happen when updating? Never thought to check again after up dating Windows.

Yes, it can happen.

Cheers for the confirmation.

Microsoft knows better than you what needs to happen on your computer, right?

I have to concede and say your are probably correct.

I finally found the cause of the dropouts. Windows has been cleverly breaking the connection by greying network icons out. I have been trying to find the latest RealTek Ethernet driver, but I have been confused by the number available. I know there is at least one other Surface Pro 9 user on the forum, so if I can be told the correct driver to download I would be very grateful. Cheers.
