Currently, my grid examples only work on Grid 1.6.2 and firmware 1.5.0 - you have to do downgrade your Grid HW and use an older Grid app version if you just want to test these!
I’ll try to find some time in the next days to update everything to ‘latest greatest’

Okay, after hinting months ago that I wanted to explore the Intech Grid modules, I finally got around to it in the last few weeks.
Unfortunately, it takes some patience and dedication; the documentation and the Grid Editor have their quirks.
But I did it: I converted my Song Master Pro remote Gig File, which controls Songmaster Pro via OSC in its own GP instance. This was previously operated by a KORG nanoKonrol2.
Now I use a VSN1 ![]()
With the resources I have here, a bit of patience, and a few workarounds, it’s working quite well and significantly better. I also learned a lot and laid the groundwork for other applications (multi-page support, graphics, etc.).
Attached are some pictures and a Gig File – a link to the appropriate image for a VSN1 is this grid-editor://?config-link=7L3qRcsCXBLFkIVyjUI6 - ensuring seamless integration with the Gig File!
Preparations
Fuel VSN1 with the Song Master Pro Remote for Gig Performer → Download the Grid Editor from https://intech.studio, create an account, and download it from the community there.
Configure Song Master Pro for OSC (Edit → External Connections)
In Gig Performer, create an OSC target for “Song Master Pro” and activate OSC. It’s also important to activate “OSC direct addressable.”
There’s also a fantastic tutorial by John Schnurrenberger himself.
Load the attached Gig file, start Song Master Pro, and test it!

What’s special or different about this solution?
- first device with graphics / text output
- significantly better syncing of individual elements (through various workarounds and GP script additions)
- a small device that, thanks to its 4 pages, can also be used for other things in parallel - I’m currently preparing something for that…
- extensible with further modules from Intech - for example, the PBF4 - this too can be synchronized much better with GP and used independently in multiple instances - but I’m still working on that
Todos
- receive text via SysEx on the grid
optimize sync after page changes- done
- flexible GP control for setlists with text support, mixer
Oh, so many ideas, so little time…
