Hi all. I’m a utility player and play keys as well as guitar in several projects. I use a hardware synth (Korg Kronos) and also a midi controller using Mainstage and have a Kemper Stage for my guitar. New to the community and considering switching over to GP but was wondering….
Can I run both guitar and keys through Gig Performer at the same time? Typical set has me jumping from keys to guitar song to song and sometimes playing both at the same time. It would be great to reduce my footprint on stage and honestly I’ve never thought a single platform could handle both.
That is not a problem. It’s a free routing system, so you can build your rackspaces to accommodate any number of different audio and/or instrument connections. For the more complex configurations, you can use multiple instances of GP to further differentiate instrument groups and maximize processing usage.
Totally.
I mainly play keyboards but for a few songs I grab my guitar…
So my keyboard sounds all are set up as “local rackspaces” between which I switch as needed, and when I decide to use the guitar, I just activate one of the guitar sounds (one plugin. four presets to choose from) that I have ready to play at any time in the “global rackspace”. (the keyboard sounds is still playable, but I only have two hands).
Very intuitive to use for my simple needs.
But this is just one of countless possibilities how we can approach this task.
You’re on the right track with Gig Performer!
I play organ sounds w Fishman Express and guitar sounds at the same time. I use Waves PRS amp plugin in MainStage and Gigperformer Relay plugin to put the guitar sound back into gig performer where I setup a “balance” control to mix the two.
It’s been a while but when I first began using Waves PRS amp plugins, they caused problems when used directly in gig performer with predictive loading. Waves does not list GP as a supported host but they do list MainStage. For possible better reliability they are in MainStage.

We cooperated with Waves and they confirmed that they support GP as a host, but they will not publish it in their web page as GP competes with their product “SuperRack Performer”.
It’s pretty funny that they won’t list GP on their site due to a $99 product of theirs. Meanwhile, they have no problem with GP users purchasing the other $5,900USD of their products.
