Hi everyone!
Still new to this GP world, and testing it since a week or two…today I tried out my macbook air sound card with a headphone and it works…during a live gig is it possible to use it?..or do I need a backup audio interface? Thank you!
Cheers!
I would always use a decent audio interface.
Yes, I agree, but I was thinking in case of a sudden failure …
Sure you can use an adapter cable from the headphone out to connect to your mixer.
good to know…I do have a isolator cable which can be used for this
At my last gig I used a 1/8 to 2x6.3mm jacks straight in to our mixer from my MacBook Pro. It worked so well I may keep using this set up, at least for rehearsals.

Yes.
It supports Core Audio, has good low latency performance, good sound quality.
Main issues is lack of variety of input types of an interface, and dedicated controls for output levels and such.
Its sound quality is probably not as good as a dedicated audio interface but i doubt it would be that discernable in a live situation.
