I somehow got the Application: Intel version of GP 5 installed instead of universal

Since upgrading my live performance macbook pro to GP 5.0.40, I’ve been having several random crashes. As I’ve dug further into this, it appears that while my GP 4.5.8 install shows Application: Universal in Get Info, my GP 5.0.40 shows Application: Intel. I ‘though’ I had downloaded and installed the universal installer package, however given that was some time back and I don’t have the binary any more, I can’t be sure.

What I really want to know is the best approach to remove/replace the intel version with one that is meant to run on Apple Silicon, in this case, a M1 Max CPU. I appreciate assistance on this one. It may explain several other issues I’ve run into since moving to GP 5.0.40.

Did you try physically remove the installed APP, then download the Universal Edition and install it?

The latest GP version is 5.1.1

You can uninstall the current version and then install the latest version (Universal).

There’s no need to uninstall everything. Just delete the app from your Applications folder and the run the Universal installer
