I’m having problems with 2 plugins, “Hybrid 3” and “expand!2”, both found on https://www.airmusictech.com/.
The plugins stop working after being idle for some time in gigperformer. There is no sound and when I open the plugin interface, it freezes. Restarting gigperformer makes them work again, but that’s no solution for me.
The hardware I use is a Mac Mini M1 2020 16Gb 1Tb, Ventura 13.3 .
Is there anyone who had similar issues using these plugins?
Hi,
I have never used rosetta on my M1 and hybrid 3 has always been working from day one .(2021/10/7)
I’m using gigperformer 3 years now (first with a mac mini 2012)
Do you have the latest version of hybrid3? I have version 3.0.7.19000
I’ve uploaded a screenshot where you can see rosetta is not enabled and the plugins hybrid an xpandi2 are supported.
I was aware of that. (ventura not officially supported)
But I think I have done over 30 gigs without any problem and now suddenly this problem occurs.
Maybe time to choose some other plugins in stead of Hybrid and expand!2. I think the last version is from 2020 which is very old I think.
Paul, thx for your help.
Paul,
I 'm avoiding rosetta.
Everything should be working native.
I have plenty of other plugins which will cover the sounds used in hybrid and expand!2.
(those plugins where free addons to midi controlers I bougth). They should keep their plugins up to date. Using rosetta is taking a big step backwards. I love the power of the M generation which is a big advantage.
What confuses many customers is that Intel based AU plugins are in fact visible when you run Gig Performer in native ARM mode. It turns out that Apple made a special exception for Intel AU plugins. If an ARM based audio plugin host (like Gig Performer) tries to access Intel AU plugins, those plugins are loaded through Rosetta but some extra work is done under the covers to allow those plugins to communicate with the native host. We assume that Apple did this so that their own plugin hosts (Logic Pro and Mainstage) running natively on ARM processors would have access to customers’ existing Intel plugins seamlessly. Sadly, Apple did not see fit to do the same thing for VST/VST3 plugins, hence the problem.
I use my mac mini only for gigging.
The only thing I install are os updates.
I did purchase and install xfer serum last week.
Yesterday I installed the last os update.
The freezing problem was already there before the os update.
