How do you clear the 'Open Recent' files?

Not a big deal, but I’m curious and couldn’t find this in the manual: how can I clear the Gig files that I see when using ‘Open Recent’ ? There are gig files there that I will not be using and just don’t want to see them pop up every time.

Open others

Or delete the files.
Or rename them.
Or move them into another folder.

(With Win Explorer / Mac Finder)

Hello there!

What about recent files that don’t exist anymore?
I have got a few file/names that don’t exist anymore, but they still displayed.
How can I get rid of those?

Thanks you all!

I have many that no longer exist and this fills 3/4 of the list.
A command like “Remove the reference from the recent files list ?” would be useful.

The “Recent Files” are stored in the Gig Performer settings file near the end after all of the plugins. In my settings file, the entry looks like this:

VALUE name=“recentGigRackFiles” val=“C:\Users\johna\Documents\Gig Performer\Gigs\Bass amp sims with MSuperLooper.gig C:\Users\johna\Downloads\X-Touch Layer Sync.gig C:\Users\johna\Documents\Gig Performer\Gigs\Bass sims with MSuperLooper.gig C:\Users\johna\Documents\Gig Performer\Gigs\AT5 SVT Suite MSuperLooper.gig C:\Users\johna\Documents\Gig Performer\Gigs\MSuperLooper.gig C:\Users\johna\Documents\Gig Performer\Gigs\Ampeg SVT Suite.gig C:\Users\johna\Documents\Gig Performer\Gigs\Add Root v1.0.6.gig C:\Users\johna\Documents\Gig Performer\Gigs\Octave v1.0.6.gig C:\Users\johna\Downloads\Octave v1.0.6.gig C:\Users\johna\Downloads\Add Root v1.0.5.gig”/>

My settings file is located here: “C:\Users\johna\AppData\Roaming\Gig Performer\Gig Performer.settings”

Mine is almost 400K in size (I have a lot of plugins). It’s a text file, so you could edit it directly until Deskew potentially adds a “Clear Recent Files” command.

As a test, using Notepad.exe, I deleted all but the first entry, ending with “.gig”, deleting the trailing “&#10” (not shown in the text of this post, but there’s one after each entry in the list, except for the last file). That worked fine. My Recent Files list now shows only that one file. JUST BE CAREFUL!!!

Hi themaartian,

Do you also know where I can find the file on a Mac?
Or somebody else…

Kind regards,
Martien

If Finder has a search function (got to have one), try searching for the file name “Gig Performer.settings”.

There will be an option in the next release to clear the recent file list. Thanks for the discussion.
