You are using Gig Performer 5 Pro for macOS.
Do do the bundled templates work? Built-in templates
Are you able to hear the sound?
Next, create a screenshot of your Wiring view.
On what MIDI Channel are you sending Note Messages to Gig Performer and what channel in Kontakt is used to receive MIDI Notes?
I am trying to play sound from built in keyboard in kontakt
still no sound I am so new to it but it looks so professional
will you guide me step by step? I will pay you for your time
Depending on your learning style, you should watch every video on Gig Performer you can get your hands on (there are a lot of them on youtube). Perhaps start with ones directed to beginners (and beware of the date, because they might reference older versions of GP).
For my learning style, the videos were very helpful. This forum can augment it (along with the manual. etc.), but you really have to spend time on your own.
[I’m not proficient enough to consult on a fee basis, even if I wanted to. :)]
can you guide me? I will pay you for your time please txt me your cell and best time you can be reached\
@xpansion used to help people this way.
Maybe he is available now.
how can I find him?
Just do a search for xpansion.
Then in any of the posts click on his picture icon and you can send him a private message.
Hi @Mikusiek
Everything takes time. This forum is really great if you ever get stuck. I’ve had GP for six months and only performed live for the first time three weeks ago because it took me that long to learn everything I need for a live show. (Music is my hobby – I also have a day job). So don’t rush anything.
If you have a workstation have been using, another option is to slowly introduce GP. I did that (even though my controller/workstations keyboards were/are not top end).
First, I started using it for horns (NI Session Horns), then violin, then I picked up IK’s Syntronik for synths, etc.
So, I continued to use internal keyboard sounds (I still do) while slowly replacing them over time with better sounds via GP (also I learned some new songs along the way).
I get the feeling, most keyboard players do not do it this way. Rather, they get GP fully ready over a few months and make a full switch. Different ways to skin a cat, I guess…
Jeff
I had a slight advantage. I’d been on stage with Logic 20 years earlier. But back then, the switch was still drastic. From a Korg X3 and a Roland piano module completely to a computer. Oh man – they were really unstable back then.![]()
I have no idea why plug in when stand alon is making sound but inside gig performer is silence
thanks!
Jeff can you connect with me via zoom so you could se step by step what I need to setup?
Mikusiek, I am sorry I am real busy right now. But, please try to do these things:
Post screen shots of your wire view and panel view. Make sure you show midi in blocks clearly. Make sure we can see the Kontakt plug in channels clearly.
Looking at the Wire View, when you hit a key on your controller, does anything light up? What “wires” light up and which do not?
Use the Midi Monitor in the rackspace. What does it show when you hit a key?
Use Kontakt’s virtual keyboard (within the Kontakt Plugin). When you trigger that in the GP rackspace does it trigger a sound?
