I created a button to trigger “Panic” to “musically” stop all decaying notes.
I have to press the button twice, but I want to work by pressing the button once.
Pressing twice is hard to do “in time” (to get the notes stop on a precise beat).
It works with one mouse click, but using the keyboard controller button, I have to press twice.
I tried Momentary and Latching on MIDI tab.

Panic.gig (24.5 KB)
Does this work for you?
Looks like what I did.
Another issue: Arturia Modular (within AnalogLab) does not stop decay at all, even when I press the global Panic in upper right corner.
Try double-click the panic button.
@pianopaul
Do you have Arturia? If so, try MiniMoog.
Does the global panic work for you with that VST?
I have Arturia, right now I, I am in the office.
Can you upload a small gig, I can test with?
And please instructions how to reproduce the issue.
@pianopaul
BTW, after double clicking Panic, within a minute Gig Performer went red (“No audio interface”) and my brand new Win 11 Dell XPS17 (64 gb RAM) crashed with blue screen of death. Took several reboots to get computer back. I use X32 Rack as audio interface.
That is strange, what Audio driver are you using?
Does that happen with the inbuilt sound card also?
X32 Rack X-USB audio interface with proper driver
Just load Arturia Mini VST3
Increase decay (release)
Play a note
click Panic
Does it stop the note for you?
I can test at Home in about 8 hours and come back to you.
You have to differentiate between Note-off and Sound-off ![]()
With increased Decay the sound will fade-out after receiving a note off. I think we had a similar discussion some days in a different thread? Currently away, but maybe somebody else can confirm/check?
I can confirm, the Panic button (pressed once)
Send All note off for channels 1.,.16
C64 0 (Hold Pedal off) for channels 1…16
Pitch when 8192 for channels 1…16
So that a sound is fading out when release is set > 0 is normal and expected behavior.
If you can, please test Arturia Mini (as I described in prior comment) and answer.
1] Does the Arturia release fade actually stop on click of Panic button? (mine does not)
2] If Panic button does not stop the release fade, them how do I (easily) assign a button to stop all fade outs
BTW, I will not be using “Stop Audio engine” again. That made Gig Performer turn “red screen” AND right after that my new Win 11 (Dell XPS17) computer went to “blue screen of death”, and on reboot Windows went into “Repair Windows”, said it failed, then of another reboot, everything seemed back to normal. Scary.
I will test, but I bet that with panic only NOTE OFF messages are sent to the plugin and therefore the release is not stopped.
But with a script a workaround could be to use a gain plugin affter the MINI plugin and mute that for example for 1 second or so.
Red because the audio engine is being reset and blue screen of death means your audio device driver has a bug. Contact the manufacturer.
Just FYI it is X-USB card in X32 rack with latest firmware and latest driver.
That doesn’t imply that there’s no bug!
This implies at least that he has the most recent… bugs. ![]()
