Guitar Tuning Strange Happenings

Hi all every now and then I go to play the guitar and it’s sounding odd - so check the tuning and my E is showing on GP as almost an F. Checked all routing and even routed to a guitar rig straight from the input - same thing - so now pitch change FX etc in play. Checked on logic - shows as E. Restarted GP and ok again. Any one have any idea what can be happening as my guitar playing is basic enough already but I would be in real trouble if my guitar pitch started to shift during a song or show. Thank you

this may seem obvious
look for a transposition audio effect in your rackspace/song/variation/song part.
have you checked the global transpose right next to time signature to bpm - top right corner?

This is a “real guitar” audio input? So no midi involved?

Maybe check all audio interface settings. I think I read about something like this happening when there is some conflict in the sample rate (44 vs 48?).

Thank you - def not that. Have also connected the audio in straight to an instance of guitar rig - just to use the tuner and the issue was still there ie: before any other processing at either global or local rack level. Also the other clue ( possibly ) - is a restart of GP seems to have reset things but I can’t figure out why / how. Thanks again

Thanks - that is worth looking at - although restartin GP seems to set the tuning back an my logic is that if there was an underlying problem like sample rate reopening GP wouldn’t make a differnece but I could be wrong. I have checked an my sample rate is set to 48 which I think must have got auto selected when I choose my interface a scarlett 2i4i. I am also trying to work what I need to check that sample rate against as I know the interface supports 44 - right up to 192. Thank you

David mentioned this can be an issue if you are running two hosts(?).

I don’t pretend to know, but your symptoms seems similar to that (about 1 semi-tone off).

(Another thought was pitch bend, but that does not seem relevant to your situation).

In that case you can be pretty sure that the problem is a mismatch between what GP thinks is the sample rate and what your audio interface is configured. So something else probably changed the interface
