GP revalidation

I was told today on Reddit by some one ,that they need to be revalidating GP and need to be online, otherwise they are not able to use it. I was asked to revalidate once after updating os.
Is there something I don’t know about? Is this individual incorrect?

Absolutely not. After your initial validation, the only time you would ever have to re-validate is, as you found out, after certain major OS updates (which affect the licensing of other apps as well, not just GP)… and that’s not something you should do within a few weeks of a performance anyway.

GP is a live performance host, so not requiring an online presence to function is very important to its stability and operation.

That’s what I thought. Got confused by his message. Was that a thing i the previous versions? He said he is using GP4.

No, I’ve had GP since GP3 and it’s been the same the whole time. It wouldn’t make any sense for a live performance host to require regular online activations.

Ok. I’ve got no idea what this some one was talking about then.

My thinking is: If he were Deskew customer, he would’ve contacted Deskew support and not write on Reddit under a pseudonym.

This came out in the conversation when I was looking for an alternative of Mainstage months ago. Today he asked me what had i gone for. Then he’s told me about his issue. He said he had GP3 and GP4. Don’t see areason for him to lie.

He just told me he did ask here in the forum and got an answe “what’s the problem with being online?”.

That’s strange because the usual answer to questions regarding problems with computers that are online, is ‘why do you need to be online? Reading you emails during a performance?’ or something along those lines.

In answer to the original question: I use GP since 3.8 and GP has no need for an online connection. But some plugins sadly do. Maybe there lies the confusion.

Not realy,no. He said that he is us8ng another instance of GB on another machine and that might be an issue. I told him to come back to the forum and ask again. I’m just a messanger😅
