So this is going to be one of those that are very difficult to diagnose as I can’t repeat it. Thus this is more of an “is anyone else experiencing this?” type post.
Occasionally - not often - GP seems to not remember or incorrectly load in the settings of certain soft-synths. Like I said, not common, but often enough to be noticeable and an issue when it happens. It may be a Rackspace I’ve had for a while where I’m using some plug-in, originally changed settings (e.g. filters, envelopes, etc.) and saved it. It might have worked for months or longer. Then one time I’ll open GP, go that Rackspace (via a song in set list), and it will be completely wrong sound because settings are different…
I’ve noticed this primarily (only?) on Arturia V collection stuff. I’ve probably seen it a dozen times over the last couple years.
Anyone else experienced anything like this. I can’t “make it happen” - so not sure how to proceed figuring this out?
I have had that happen. Specifically I had an issue with Syntronik. But, this might have been because I did not create the right file paths.
I think this might have occurred with an Arturia synth as well.
In my case, it no longer pulled the sound I wanted at all (slightly different than getting different settings applied). I think I just got a empty slot (no sound).
Wouldn’t it be nice if things always just worked. Damn computers, there’s is always some stress.
Are you on Mac or Windows? Arturia Plugins have become very reliable to me (I’m on Mac).
However I had issues in the past when certain controllers of my two boards have been passed through to the plugin bcs they have not been mapped to widgets…
Therefore I typically put restrictive MIDI filters in front of my plugins (also used for zone control…).
If someone wants to try to reproduce and if it not all plugins from the V collection, it is important to give an example of plugin and of its version (AU, VST, VST3).
I have also seen this with some Arturia plugings (VST3) and I now have filers in the input stream to the plugins to avoid unintentional changes. I also have delayed loading set in the plugin manager for all my Arturia plugins. This is a hang over from GP3, just never tried to see if it still has any effect as i now have no issues with Arturia plugins.
