GP 5 Relayer can crash Ableton Live 12.0.2

Trying to share midi from GP to Ableton
On Windows 11, Ableton Live 12.0.2
Insert Relayer VST3 on a midi track
Flip the switch from Send to Receive
Ableton crashes consistently for me.

Inserting Relayer on Audio track and switching from Send to Receive is also crashing Ableton

Selecting the Via channel selector will also crash ableton.

I can insert GP Relayer in Luna (windows beta, just installed it) - but Luna won’t let me record the output (that’s a Luna issue, I think).

I just tried Presonus Studio One v6 and it also crashes as soon as I touch the UX of the relayer plugin.

When you insert the plugin in Ableton, is Gig Performer Running and gp relayer included and set to send?

I can’t reproduce the crash on Ableton Live 12.0.2 using Win 11.
Inserting GP Relayer on MIDI and Audio tracks and receiving from GP both work as expected here.

I am also trying to figure out recording GP Relayer > Studio One. I believe I have it configured properly because I can hear and see the audio from GP Relayer into Studio One but I can’t seem to figure out how to hear the playback of the recorded audio. I record something and see the recorded track but it’s greyed out and I just can’t figure out how to listen back to what it recorded. If I figure it out I’ll post a follow up here. Likewise, if someone has a solution please share.

I thought about what the issues could be and realized that it might be a firewall issue. I rebooted, then unblocked Gig Performer 5 in the firewall settings. There were two settings and one was blocked.

Now I can connect correctly.

@paddy you have to disable the Relayer plugin to hear the track.

I thought I had tried that. I’ll give it another try. Thanks for the tip and I’ll report back if it works or not.

I had a similar issue. So I put go relayer on an aux track in abelton. And set the record track input to that aux.
