Global rackspace compressor suggestions?

Looking to add a final stage on the output, I have Waves L4 UltraMaximizer, but reading the forums, and so forth, I”ve seen allot of comments saying its a heavy CPU plugin, and possibly altering the sound, then I saw a few people using the Tokyo Dawn.

Is there a suggested way to help to make or more “ glued “ output, like a single workstation keyboard would have, I know it’s difficult since, every plug-in will have it’s own “ sound”.

I’m using a RME UCXII that has a limiter and compressor that can be used on the output also.

Just looking for some suggestions

A few that I’ve used for ‘gluing’ instruments together in a live scenario:

  • Waves Abbey Road TG Mastering Live
  • Cytomic The Glue

Others have mention the Tokyo Dawn Labs TDR Limiter being a good end-stage plugin.
