Well I think I had conflicting MIDI assignments on the local rack vs. the global rack. That’s the only thing I can figure that was preventing the MIDI controller from mapping to the desired widgets in the global rack. Being new to GP, that’s just an educated guess but I might certainly be wrong.
In GP, you can go to the Window tab, and select MIDI Assignments from the list. You’ll be able to see if there are any conflicts (if indeed there are any), and adjust as necessary.
That may or may not be but shouldn’t have anything to do with low volume unless you were turning something down by mistake. Using gains is not the way to address that
