Gig Performer solves all my problems!

Hi everyone! I have what is probably the simplest use-case for Gig Performer (have only really set it up today for the first time).

I play in a Hammond Organ trio (Hammond, drums, guitar) with a Crumar Mojo (I USED to carry my Hammond C3 and Leslie 147!).

While the sounds in the Crumar are great, it IS a very early model and has older software in it. It also struck me that I’d like to use some digital effects (EQ etc) to get better sound in different venues…

So I have had a plan for a while of building a mini PC rig and gigging with that - and the first step was to buy Gig Performer and see if it could do everything I need and YES it can!

I have been surprised how hard it has been for different DAWs to do this but I am using my Crumar Mojo as a MIDI controller with upper, lower and pedals on MIDI channels 1, 2 and 3 and a Rotary speed switch.

(In Studio One I need 3 instrument tracks routed to a fourth track with the Hammond vst on it and I have to have the Leslie plugin GUI open for the Leslie switch to work - in some DAWS I CAN’T get the switch to work at all).

In Gig Performer everything worked straight out of the box (so to speak).

So I have a simple patch with VB3-II (the Hammond vst) into UAD Waterfall Rotary, into UAD Ocean Way Deluxe and some EQ and gain plugins.

But I have also set up a Minimoog clone (VST) on MIDI channel 2 ( the lower keyboard of the Crumar) with a key split - with the volume of the Minimoog controlled from one of the (unused) drawbars of the Crumar.

I haven’t gigged with it yet but this will be the most versatile Hammond setup I’ve ever had.
