Hello, I have been loving Gig Performer since discovering it in some posts by Nott on Gearspace. I have it set up in a way that works great for me - just wondering if anybody thinks it could be organized better or optimized in any way?
I currently have my Fractal AxeFx III connected via SPDIF to my RME Babyface Pro FS. That comes in on ADAT 1/2 of the RME but I’m not sure if it’s even being used. I am also using a second instance of Gig Performer to bring in the main outputs of the AxeFx and the DI.
Because the AxeFx comes in on Adat 1/2, I am using ADAT 3/4 for Gig Performer. I am using Gig Performer to send a path to my CLR’s for studio monitors connected to RME analog out 1/2. Gig Performer also has a path to the RME headphone output for my closed back Slate VSX, and the optical out of the RME is going to a Topping DX5II for the Slate Immersion One’s. I have to change my DAW output to ADAT 3/4 and also use ADAT 3/4 for Windows audio.
I love the way this is working - I can easily switch from monitors with Tonal Balance Control 3 to my closed back VSX headphones to my Immersion One’s without having to change anything in my DAW or Windows. I can play my AxeFx and monitor it through the VSX plugin on headphones which sounds amazing. Just making sure I’m not missing anything that could make this setup better. Also, does my AxeFx need to be connected via SPDF to the RME for the second instance of Gig Perrformer to work? It has been working so I haven’t messed with it.
