Gig Performer Essentials Is Now Available

We’re excited to announce the release of Gig Performer Essentials — a streamlined, budget-friendly version of Gig Performer 5 designed for musicians who want to get up and running fast.

Just like the full version, Gig Performer Essentials offers the same ultra-stable plugin hosting environment and intuitive visual workflow you’ve come to expect, but in a more focused package that’s perfect for those new to live performance software or looking for a simpler setup.

What’s Included:

  • The same visual routing approach users have come to expect
  • Unlimited rackspaces and variations
  • A simplified action set for automating your live performances
  • 1,000 ready-to-use sounds from KV331’s SynthMaster Player

You can read more about essentials in the Gig Performer Essentials Overview article.

What’s Different:

Gig Performer Essentials is designed for simplicity. The feature set of Essentials is curated, but the core performance tools remain fully intact, making this version ideal for gigging musicians who just want to plug in and play.

Will us existing users of the full GP5 be able to our hands on KV331’s SynthMaster Player too? I know it’s not expensive, but just wondering!

This is a great announcement - I have a friend who’s been hesitant about buying GP to replace MainStage, but this might just get him off that fence!

[UPDATE] I just realised we can download Player (which is v2.9) free, but it does not appear to work on my Mac M1 - it fails to validate

Probably in the next update.

As a workaround, if you install GP Essentials, and Synth Master, it will work on Gig Performer (full) as well.

Do you mean install GP Essentials as a trial and then Synth Master will be available in GP full?
And still available when the trial on Essentials ends? Can you run both Essentials and full on the same machine without risk of issues with license going forward?

Downloading the free Player as you mention wouldn’t include the presets/templates that come baked into Essential if guess?

Yes, but this is a workaround.

Yes.

You don’t need even to run it, just to install it.

Of course, this is a workaround, – not officially supported.

Is it just me, or does the GP5 Essentials download link not actually work? Seems to link to https://gigperformer.com/download# and doesn’t do anything when i click on it. Tried in Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Brave… (Mac)

When I click that particular link, this popup appears:

I wonder if its hidden behind another window for you?

Weird. My router usually blocks any “known” tracking and known-to-be-dodgy IP addresses. I now tried again via a VPN and it works. Weird!

Yes - we are aware - it is being worked on.

Hi there, I just bought Gig Performer Essetials, but there is no working download link :-/

Did you not download GP Essentials first to try it?

Go to Downloads - Gig Performer®, select GP Essentials and then download

I tested the full version (Gig Performer 5) and was very pleased so far so I purchased the Essential version to start with and see how reliable it is for touring. Downloading Gig Performer 5 is no Problem at all but unfortunately nothing happens when I try to download Gig Performer Essentials :frowning: When I select the Essential version on the download page, the blue download button becomes grey and nothing happens when I click it (besides that the page scrolls to the top).

You probably need to clear your local cache.

When you click on that Download button you should get a popup requesting your name/email, etc (see attached)

I deleted the cache, I tried different MacBooks with different OSX version and different browsers (Safari/Firefox). Nothing pops up. No chance to download that app.

I encountered the same thing. There are “Download Gig Performer 5” links but none for “Gig Performer Essentials “.

There is an issue with Brave browser (possibly others) where the popup does not appear when clicking the ‘Download Gig Performer Essentials 5’ button, exhibiting the behavior described by @christopherbaum (the same happens with the ‘Download Gig Performer 5’ button–no popup)

I have no such issues with Chrome-based browsers, which display the popup for both products properly.

I figured it out. It was working when I switched to my neighbors Wifi. Seems like my router‘s security settings indentified this pop up as an advertisement or spam. So finally I got my download. Thanks for your responses.

Confirmed on Brave.

I tried on Vivaldi, as well. The same issue.
