Hi
I want tu create one Gig File where I can be able tu use Styles from Pa5x with VSTi.
In one Style are 8 Midi Tracks(Midi Channels) which can run all 8 at the same time. Each Midi Track send MSB LSB PC and I will map with VST Instruments(Superrior Drummer 3, Kontakt, SWAM etc.
I will use one Big Local Rack and there will be all VSTi which I need for my Setup.
Maybe with Unify Plugins and Scripting.
Any suggestions, and support?
Im using Mac Book Pro M1 with 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD.
Apollo X4 Audio Interface.
What is the question?
And what type of music do you play?
The question is:
How to figure out that on incoming Program Changes(MSB LSB PC) switch VST Plugins simultaneously on 8 Midi Channels from each Style from my Pa5x.
With multiple Racks and Variations its not possible thats way i want to put all in one rack.
In the past i have worked with Cantabile 3 VST Host and there this use scenario wass possible with multiple Racks and Songs and Set lLists all together.
But becouse i want to use Mac Book for Live i need this possibility with Gig Performer.
Is this possible to configure with Gig Performer?
I play Balkan Music.
You mean to switch VST plugin presets?
If so, it’s generally a bad idea to send PC events to your plugins directly. Can you set up different rackspaces, so that when you send a PC message, the corresponding rackspace is selected?
Putting everything in a single rackspace is really quite contrary to the way GP operates but you can certainly do it.
However, you’ll need to think things through — many plugins respond ONLY on channel 1. Therefore you’re going to need to use MIDI constrainers to remap each incoming channel back to channel 1 before passing to the synth
E.g. something like this. Be aware that when you send program changes into Gig Performer, those changes will only get passed to MIDI In blocks, if the rackspaces do not use the same program change number (and bank). So make sure you set your rackspace to use a PC and bank that will never be sent out by your system
I sant to use Racks, Variations, Songs, Set List in GP but in my case its not possible, because it should react at 8 Rack per Style (8 midi channels). On my Windows PC and with Cantabile 3 all this is working.
Anyway thanks for your support.
I’m not familiar with the Korg Pa5x and Styles, but you definitely don’t need to have ‘8 rackspaces active’ at the same time.
One possibility is to organize presets per rackspace.
You said you use Superior Drummer, Kontakt, SWAM.
You can use Rackspace 1 for the combination Superior Drummer Preset 1, Kontakt Preset 1, SWAM Preset 1.
Then Rackspace 2 for the combination of Superior Drummer Preset 2, Kontakt Preset 2, SWAM Preset 2.
(Presets 1 and 2 can be any presets)

Or you can use one big rackspace (or the Global rackspace) and pass through PC messages to plugins.
I will say putting all plugins that l need to the Global Rack will be good for my use case scenario.
Korga Arranger Keyboard, similar as Yamaha Genos, have 8 Tracks for Style, like 8 Keyboards connected on Gig Performer, and in each Style are up to 15 Style Elements(Intro1, Intro2, Intro3, Variation1-4, Fill1-4, Break and Ending1-3).
For each Style Element can be used diferent Sounds (each with MSB LSB PC) at 8 Midi Channels. And on switch Style Element when we playing Style can arrive in GP up to 8 different Sound changes(MSB, LSB and PC) practically at the same time.
If I have 8 Instances opened together can all this work, but 8 Instances needed a lot of RAM.
I have more then 200 Styles in my Arranger to work with.
On my Windows PC and Cantabile 3, I load all Racks in One Instance and I can switch Sound(Preset) instantly on 8 Midi channels in 8 Racks. In each of this Racks are my needed Sounds(VST Presets) and are automatically switched over incoming MSB LSB PC which are mapped for each Rack.
And I load iach Rack just once, after I can switch each Style and Presets in 8 Racks are switched instantly.
For this aproach on Gig Performer I need 8 GP Instances to open and to have this functionality on my Mac Book Pro M1.
But like I have said, each GP Instance need 750 MB of RAM and this is not a solution this way.
That is not a problem because you stated you have 32 GB of RAM.
If it is a problem, you can check out the Predictive Loading feature.
