Middle of the night here in Norway when I woke up in my chair to continue solving my problem.
I tried to stop the installation two times by clicking the x in the upper right corner of the installation window and answering Yes to wanting to cancel the Gig Performer installation. Notting happened.
I then thought I might as well restart the laptop.
After restarting I was tempted to try to start Gig Performer from it’s icon. It seemed to work as it should.
After some sleep I’ve now installed the drivers for my Focusrite audio card and done some testing inside GP. It seems to work well so far. Was able to import both rigs and all settings. Have tried out both the Keys of the 70s and the SynthMaster accompanying gig setups.
What I wonder is;
Is everything now as it should be, me being able to start up GP, or is there something that can be missing? After the first startup of GP last night, the Gig Performer folder under Documents had only four folders, Decent Sampler Templates, Favorites, Panels and Presets. After having tried out the installation further today, the folder seems to have been populated with all the other folders I’d expect to be there.
Well, my guess is that if everything works as expected that the installer had finished.
(although it may had appeared as froze, due to who knows what Windows thing in the background)
No. That particular portion of the install process is trying to install a third party plugin, the SynthMaster player, which is optional and has no impact on GP itself.
