Gig file suddenly not opening - MIDI loop

Hi all, as the title states, my gig file is suddenly not able to open, on windows 10.

It gets stuck in the middle of loading plugins. Initially it was getting stuck while loading Output Portal, but after I removed the Portal vst files (I have done this to troubleshoot when this has happened in the past/was caused by a plugin update) I would still get the same issue, only this time it would get stuck on a different plugin (Fabfilter Saturn).

Is there any way for me to troubleshoot this or revert to a previous functioning version of the gig? I didn’t change much other than the MIDI configuration before saving the file.

Maybe you face a MIDI loop.
Try this:
Open gig performer
In the midi ports window disable all midi devices
Load your gig file

Is it possible it can’t access the samples used by Portal? Were they moved? Are they in a different folder/drive?

Portal is a granular effect, should not need any samples

I thought maybe it loads samples which are used as the basis for the effect.

That did the trick! Thank you so much. I have no idea why there would have been a midi loop, perhaps it was a glitch of some kind. I was able to save the same setup I had before and re-enable all of the midi ports and it is opening and closing fine again.
