Getting midi clock from audio signal with drums

This goes to the right direction. Now, it would be interessting, how to get the audio-signal beside asio-coupled GP to the stand-alone Software (only the stand alone produces midi-clock) and getting the midi clock-output of it into GP.

Are you on Mac or Win and which audio interface?

I’m on Win10. Actually I use the Terratec AureonXFire8.0HD with own asio driver. The free asio4all driver has some shortcomings like defect audio outputs and so on. But I’m planning a more professional USB-Audio-interface for the future.

The issue is that it seems you don’t have a multi-client ASIO driver. So, have a look here:

Then for the MIDI connection from one app to another, have a look here:

But I’m afraid at some point you’ll have to try.

@joarnstadt - I think people are a little confused on what you’re trying to actually achieve.

If all you want is sync with a drummer that’s not consistent and you do not use click track - assign a widget to tempo and tap with your foot as the song progresses and your GP will change the global tempo.

Hopefully you set your fx plugins to use the host’s tempo or this will not matter.

Calculating the tempo during your performance with some software could prove challenging unless all your songs are all 4/4 time signature

Easiest is to make sure your drummer is accurate
