Can someone please tell me how I can load presets from “.fxp” and “.fxb” files?
I have vsti presets saved, from another host system, in the “.fxp” format. They were saved via the old host’s “Preset Manager” because the vsti does not have any “save to disk” utility. Can I convert “.fxp” files to “.gpp_vst” format? Or, is it the same format? Can I just rename a “.fxp” to “.gpp_vst”?
Thanks much,
G.
No you can’t rename an fxp file to be a vst file. We don’t support that older format at this time. We’ll put the suggestion in our tracking system and see how big a deal (or not) it might be to do this
What plugins do you have with FXP files?
The plugin I had in mind this morning was OB-Xd. It would be easier to just load the settings from the FXP files, than to manually recreate my settings.
I also use and very much like OB-Xd (besides my real Oberheim Xpander and 6r)
Actually Greg - @mrbeverage OB-Xd exposes Plugin Presets to GP!! and there is banks…
Antonio, Can you please tell me how you loaded your bank into OB-Xd?
All my banks are in FXB format.
I can load a bank (FXB file) in Forte, but when I add the OB-Xd plugin to a Gig Performer rackspace, it has all “default” presets.
Thanks much,
G.
Greg, when you have time, could you zip up a few of your FXB files and email them to us (support -at- gigperformer dot com).
Thanks
D
Sorry Greg for not mention this in the first place, as its a bit “hidden”, so I’m on macosx, OB-Xd ver 1.4.1
In my screenshot you can see, if your right click in the area of the letters OB-Xd (upper left) you get the SKIN and BANK options…think this is available to all plugins hosts
Again in macosx:
Put Factory folder to ~/Library/Audio/Presets/Datsounds/Obxd/
Some more digging…I recall it was a bit awkward, access to - Skins and Banks -

How to load presets for Mac users in Logic and GarageBand: It’s not very intuitive and took me half a day to figure out but here it is. You Command-Click anywhere on the OBXD UI panel, then a dropdown shows up containing two options for Skins and Banks. Choosing Banks will bring up the folder User/Library/Audio/Presets/Datsounds/OB-Xd/ and that’s where all those FXB files are supposed to go. Once you copy the banks into that folder you’ll see them come up when you Command-Click on the UI. Jeeze this was really hard to figure out!
Hi David,
I also would really appreciate the support of the .fxp format.
Today i began to set up a rackspace with the free Minimogue-VST which sounds nearly perfect to me.
(it is 32bit and runs with JBridge on Windows 7)
There are some .fxp files included in the package and i really would like to try those sounds.
Any chance that you pick up this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Should be fixed now. Please try it again
