FX Recommendations?

Hi all,

So I have the Waves bundle from a few years ago…very robust, but way overkill. It certainly does the job, but it works out of that “WaveShell” and it kinda consumes more processing power than I would like.

Can anyone recommend an FX bundle that has some nice reverb, delay, chorus, phasing, etc. Nothing too extravagant…just the basics with an emphasis on being light on the CPU load and loads quick and easy?

The included FX in GP4 is actually fine for me in many applications…but it lacks phasing/flanging. And I would prefer a “saturation” type plugin vs. a general distortion for when I need to push a Rhodes sound a little.

Thanks!
Joe

I love the Overloud stuff — the full version is awesome. (NB – we do NOT get any kickbacks when we recommend stuff as we want our users to trust our opinion without bias) — I use the Overloud TH-U in my own bands.

I will look into it, David. Thank you.
I realize the whole “conflict of interest” thing, but I wouldn’t mind even if you did get a kickback…if it’s good stuff, then it’s good stuff!!

I use Mixbox from Ik Multimedia to tweak keyboard sounds. It is a virtual rack where you load the effects you like, you can save the full rack as a preset. I like it very much. It’s not cheap but it happens to have some discount, just check IK site for seasonal offers

My concern (if I was buying from somewhere else based on recommendations) was that if someone is getting a kickback, they’re going to push their customers towards those particular products and one could never be certain whether it really is the right product.

I have Waves too, but absolutely love the plugins from Melda Productions and my first choice where possible.

The best news for you is that they have a free effects bundle that surpasses what you listed. Their paid versions usually give you the ability to tinker with the guts under the hood so to speak but you will know if you need that or not after using the free version. You can also use their paid versions for free for 15 days, I really like the way they do business and treat their customers.

BTW - you don’t have to install the whole bundle, you can choose the individual plugins you want with the installer.

Thank you! I will check these out over the weekend. Much appreciated

I’m currently using Unfiltered Audio’s Byome (from Plugin Alliance) for this very job. It’s the best one (for me) I’ve tried so far.
