Hello, I am 1 week new to the app, and I am beyond frustrated right now with making something that should be easy, work at all, so I am hoping someone up here can help me.
I purchased Essentials, but I am not seeing the ability to advance the lyrics when certain markers in the stream are reached.
I placed {marker: verse1] and others in the Lyric Editor, but under the markers I am not seeing a way to look for them.
I believe I am looking for “Go to Chord Pro Marker” but it doesn’t show on my list of options. Is this because of it being Essentials and not Pro? I wish it was clearer as to what you can and can’t do with these 2 versions…
That’s exactly right.
The Pro version does include a Go To Chord Pro marker, as well as many other Actions not included with the Essentials version. Keep in mind that there is a 14 day fully-functional trial for each version, which I would highly recommend using prior to purchase in order to ascertain which version is required for your purposes.
OK, bummer.
Yeah, I looked at that closely before purchasing, and when I read this under #10, I thought I was gold:
”**You can automatically scroll the lyrics or lead sheets as you move through the parts of a song.”
**
I get that there are many ways to “scroll”, it’s just unfortunate that the method I wanted to use doesn’t work in essentials.
Thanks, I guess I’ll look into upgrading to Pro, even though scrolling text doesn’t feel like a Pro option to me…
Perhaps someone more knowledgeable about the Lyrics section will chime in and provide a solution. I use an external app for my lyrics, so I’m not entirely familiar with the ins and outs of that section in GP.
Oh wow, I have 1GB download speeds, and showing 758MB with speed tests, but yet downloading Pro is downloading at 90k /sec, which will take about 4Hr’s to finish.
OK, so yeah, I was able to download the Pro version and install it. I also see that I was able to open my in-progress Essentials gig file that I created without any issue, that I can tell, but I won’t know until I have my guitar in hand.
So, for those looking to advance the lyrics via markers within audio streaming in Essentials, it isn’t possible, the option to trigger a Chord Pro Marker isn’t available, so you will need to upgrade to Pro to get it.
Yes, there are many other methods to go about this with Essential, but this specific use case is only available in Pro.
