Finger Tap Feature Problem

Hello community, I’m trying to figure out how the best way to get Finger Tap techniques for playing midi. Thank you, community. I created a three-note midi sequence, using GP recording, from the file I dragged the midi into the midi file player, then mapped three widgets, according to Bret’s short video. connected mid file player to a VST When pressing the two stepped assigned keys you only plays one note, and the single note is an octave higher than programmed and not the three recorded. I’m sure it’s something I’m doing wrong but not sure what it is yet. Would love your suggestion. attached is a Screen shot, Thank you for your help.

Can you please upload the gig file and used MIDI file?

I Tried to upload the midi file i created using the GP record when first posted, but didn’t work, how should i upload midmnd gig file. thanks…

Put them in a zip file and post it

Thank you, Here are the files.
Rack Space.zip (26.4 KB)
Midi.zip (2.3 MB)

Wow such a big midi file?

Yes, I believe the file also has the audio sample in the midi file

I think the issue is you quantized to 1/64, is that by mistake?

Try this MIDI File,
Set quantization to 1/2 in MIDI File Player (8th notes)
TW.mid (158 Bytes)

Your quantization was at 64th in the MIDI File and the length of some notes have been to short.

As a rule the length and the position of the notes in the MIDI File must match the quantization which is being used the the MIDI File Player for stepping manually.

Huh? You can’t put audio samples in MIDI files

No, in the zip file there is a MIDI File and 2 Audio Files.

I would say yes, not sure how it got to 1/64… I will give yours a go. Thanks

could not open

You don’t open a MIDI file - you drag it into the MIDI File Player plugin in an already open or created gig file containing the MIDI File Player

sorry about that

thanks, Pianopaul the midi file works, so when you created this, did you use the GP record feature or a DAW, then exported midi from DAW. I would love to know the steps you used to create this, so that I could do the same. When I have tried to use the GP record, it comes out an octave higher, the notes do not trigger. Thanks

I was using Ableteon Live, you could use Cubase or Logic or whatever MIDI Editor you have.
With GP record there is not quantization.
Sure you can record, but the quantization of note positions or note length is a must.

Thanks, I am currently using reaper, so I guess I would the midi editor and reaper. Did you just draw in the midi or did you play at live if you don’t mind me asking. Thanks again.
