Feature request - disable/hide all plugins of specific formats (vst3/au etc)

A small feature that I’d love to see in a future version of GP is the ability to choose to display only one format of plugin in the plugin manager, or alternatively disable specific formats from being scanned/added.

It would save having to go in to the plugin manager each time I install a new plugin to disable all formats aside from the one I use.

Thanks!

In the install process, you can generally select the formats you want to install.

I always uncheck AAX, for example.

As for hiding/disabling: [tip] How to hide unwanted plugins

Thanks for the reply. I’m still hoping for a general setting in GP so I don’t have to go into the plugin manager whenever I install a new plugin to disable specific formats.

I only install VST3 and AU formats. AU for Logic (it’s the only option). VST3 for GP (for cross-platform) so in my specific case I’d like to be able to disable any AU plugins in GP.

How often do you install new plugins?

Possibly too often

A few a week at the moment, especially while building a new gigging setup

Interesting…I generally try to reuse the eight hundred or so (single format) I’ve already got :winking_face_with_tongue:

You need to have a lot of plugins to be sure what you do not need :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

And yet we keep testing….

Sounds almost philisophical…

Many years ago, when the GP project started, @pianopaul made the humorous but true observation that “Sometimes you have to buy a plugin and test it to make sure you don’t need it”
