It would be great to have chords/lyrics embedded in a panel, also to have them scroll at a defined beat IE whatever the bpm is.

Why can’t you use the Lyrics/Chords Window?
If you like a big and scrolling lyrics function and you are on a windows system, I recommend “Thorsten’s Live Prompter”
It is a simple and small but very effective piece of free software for that purpose.
You can use .txt files and easily customise screen appearance. (Just read the small manual!)
It is midi controllable. I’m using a virtual midi port to control automatic song switching within GP.
In my setup I’m using a vertical screen with one instance of GP in the upper 1/3, one in the bottom 1/3 and in the middle the scrolling live prompter.

How much text do you have? Are you thinking that it would scroll within a panel?
What do you exactly mean?
On Mac you can include PDF-FIles very easy and you can scroll through the document.
Scrolling can be automated by scripting or by widgets.
You can jump to specific parts when you switch song parts.
Many possibilities.
And with DUET or the using sidecar on Mac you can put that chords window for example on an iPad using as external Monitor.

Yes you have 2 windows.
But you can position it wherever you want.
