[Feature Leak] Coming soon to Gig Performer Plug-ins In Use

Coming soon to Gig Performer, a brand new feature called “Plug-ins In Use” :control_knobs::sparkles:. Check out the GIF below to see how you can effortlessly export a comprehensive list of all the VSTs used in your live performances to a spreadsheet program of your choice. See exactly which Plug-ins you are using, complete with version information, and which rackspaces they appear in. This is essential when migrating gig files between computers, replacing instances of a VST which you have upgraded or replaced, or just taking stock of which tools are being used most often and where.

Looks like another awesome feature!

This will be very useful on Mac when migrating from intel to apple silicon, as the non compatible VSTs will show as ‘missing’.

Owww… sorry missed that!!

Hi,

do you also know when… What is soon?
Do they have a date?

Kind regards,
Martien

No, sorry - as a general rule we really don’t pre-announce dates for updates.

We hope it will be within the next few months but we never promise such things as one never knows what might happen that causes a delay — a show stopper bug, a delay in updating the website, a server crash, somebody getting sick, etc. We also don’t want people to buy in advance because they saw a new feature that, though unlikely, might actually not end up in the update.

We normally don’t even announce new features in advance but because this update will be free to all customers who purchased GP4 at our full retail price, we don’t see the harm in letting people know what’s coming. We know users are curious and excited about new stuff.

Okay….

My goal would be to have it get as close to hardware summaries of people’s rigs that one can find online. If that’s the case, it’s not only going to have to show us the plugin, but also which sub-processors are being used. Guitar rig with just two distortion pedals is a much different beast from guitar rig with just delays & reverbs. Or with Echoboy, it should probably say what mode the plugin is in. That kind of thing. I mean, the alternative right now, if one wanted to share one’s gig performer setup the same way one shares a typical hardware rig, would be to take screenshots of every single plug-in’s plug-in window so we could see sub-processors activated, settings being used, etc. MAYBE a way to do that? “Export screenshots of every plugin window”?

The purpose of this feature is to indicate what plugins you need if you want to migrate gig Performer to another platform. Such things as the state (delays and reverbs vs distortion pedals) is stored in the gig file itself.
