I have saved a few .gig files in version 4.8.2 using Toontrack EZDrummer 3 along with some EZMix 3 instances connected to that. These are in VST3 format.
After saving the setup and reopening it, the EZDrummer 3 settings are recalled, but the settings for the EZMix 3 plugins are not. All of the settings sliders are kind of ‘zeroed out’ or all set to minimum.
I tried the same thing using AU versions of EZMix 3 plugins and the settings recall correctly. Is there something I can do to make the VST3 instances of the plugin recall correctly? Has anyone else experienced something similar?
It sounds like one of the rare instances when an AU version of a plugin is functioning better than a VST (it’s usually the other way around).
You can try mapping all the sliders in EZMix3 to widgets and saving the gig file.
If the VST3 version doesn’t work with that solution, then just use the AU version. It’s not uncommon for one format of a plugin to work better than another, and its good you found one format that does recall correctly.
I would reach out to Toontrack and let them know the issue you’re facing with the VST3 version of EZMix3.
Yes, I tried it in Fender Studio Pro and it works as expected.
I also tried in on another mac (running Tahoe) and it works as expected. The mac that it is not working as expected on is running OS 15 (Sequoia). Maybe that’s the culprit. I’ll try some more testing.
