It’s progressing! I also gave the controller a 2.8’ main display (here in the foreground with my GIGolo logo ;-)), on which the Rackspace or song name can be displayed. The first test run with motor faders, OLEDs and main display as well as with the communication with GP was successful…
The DIY controller is almost ready. I’m in the process of refining the software between the controller and the GP and giving the prototype a reasonably respectable appearance.
Looks good! I’m curious what you intend to use the 3 “Prev” buttons at the bottom for?
Thats a copy&paste error
When designing the front panel foil, I simply forgot to change the labeling of the universally usable keys
Just recently entering the GP world and found this while mulling over where I want my rig to go over the next few months. Did you get the GIGolo (great name) finished in the end?
Hey Tom,
it looks very nice what you built. Is there any chance to have the code and other usefull stuff (Kikad,..) you used for this ? I’m struggling with my project about how I have to plug my faders and communicate with them with the Teensy. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Hi Alex, I’ve finished Gigolo to the point where I’ve been using it successfully at my gigs for a year now.
It works very well – although, due to lack of time, I’ve only finished GIGolo’s “operating system” and the associated GPScripts to the point where they’re fully functional for use with Setlist mode.
However, this only applies to the rotary knob and the large main display. Faders and channel displays also work in Rackspace mode.
Hey Joosho, No problem, I can provide both KiCad files and the Arduino operating system program.
I also have two working, unpopulated circuit boards (260 mm x 198 mm) left, which I’d be happy to give away if needed.
I haven’t (yet) structured the Teensy software (Arduino) enough or added comments to make it suitable for publication. It’s not completely finished yet and is a preliminary working version for my own use.

Thank you Tom, that’s very kind. I’m gonna look at it this week and see if I’ll use your circuit board or not. But it could be useful indeed.
Do you still have the reference for the screens (128x64) you used and the buttons with LED beneath each fader ?
Anyway, I’m looking forward to have the opportunity to look at the code you created; especially the part with MIDI and faders related.
Thanks for sharing your work ![]()
