I’ve been publishing some sound design demonstrations on YouTube, making cover versions of stuff like Stranger Things opening theme utilizing mostly freeware plugin synths and mixing tools.
Last week I posted a short clip of “the electronic national anthem of Finland”, made with Garageband and Vital Basic.
I also opened the synth patches on Gig Performer and routed them inside my rackspace template, ending up with a gig file which’ll play you four synth parts from Sandstorm. You will need the VST3 version of Vital Basic (free) and the factory wavetables which are downloaded inside the plugin/standalone app. Then just open this gig file, press play and start tweaking. (The MIDI file player will give alert “missing MIDI file”, but don’t worry, you won’t need them.)
Have fun with it. Impress your friends and family, use the sounds with your cover band, start creating your own trance anthems, or whatever you wish to do with this.
