Hence the reason not to use migration and rebuild the settings file when you switch to another machine. That’s not a GP specific issue, I’ve seen this kind of thing with other applications when the “Library/Application Support” stuff gets copied over.
My bet is that migration is rock solid for Apple included products (Mail, Pages, Numbers, Logic, etc) but all bets are off for other programs which may or may not work properly after migration.
Just as a sidenote: The Gig Files I have been using today contain a lot of Falcon Audio Units, but it seems that now with the new settings file they don’t cause crashes anymore. At least this is my first impression after just a few hours with the new settings file. I hope things will remain stable now.
Before I contact UVI I will wait at least another week because with your kind help we have solved the “settings” crashes, but there have been Falcon caused crashes as mentioned before also on my old system.
